Take breathtaking Lancashire countryside, extensive native woodland belts, complemented by scenic views of the Pennines. Add 18 holes of golf, 9 in parkland, 9 in woodland, with strategically positioned bunkers, trees and natural water features. Mix in an excellent modern clubhouse, run on a friendly and welcoming basis and you have the recipe for Standish Court - a modern golf club with a distinctive difference. The tees and greens were built to an exacting specification, thereby ensuring excellent playing surfaces all year round. The club's team of greenkeepers utilise the most modern equipment, providing an extremely well presented course.

Voted Lancashire's "Family Attraction of the Year 2002" by the Good Britain Guide. An amusement park with nerve shattering ides for adults and children alike. The park is divided into five "magical lands" including 'Squire Bumpkin's Friendly Farm' and 'Knights Valley'. You can run the 'Gauntlet' rollercoaster or take the 'Pendragon's Plunge'. For younger children there's the huge soft playground and a little animal kingdom. The Jousting area is where King Arthur could choose you to star in a jousting tournament, and there are 'Dungeons of Doom' to inspect in King Arthur's Castle with daily shows including juggling and the like. Situated in a beautiful rural location at Charnock Richard, Chorley, Lancashire between Preston and Wigan.

This 18 hole park land course threads its way through magnificent mature trees and provides a challenge that is mastered by few. Originally constructed as a nine hole course in 1898 and later extended to eighteen holes Wigan Golf Course is a very pleasant parkland course which offers a good test of golf on fairly level terrain. The extended course was designed by Gaunt & Marnock and incorporates modern specification greens which provided excellent playing surfaces throughout the year. Whilst not extremely long by modern standards the 6008 yards have stood the test of time with the course record still a very respectable 67 against a par of 70.

Saying the JJB is superb, would be an understatement, it is truly magnificent. It opened in 1999 and is similar in design to Huddersfield's McAlpine Stadium, having both been built by the same company. However the JJB stadium is different in that the stands are rectangular (compared to the semi circular at Huddersfield) and both ends have the supporting steel girders suspended from beneath the roof, rather sitting above the stand itself. The four stands are of roughly the same height and there is an electric scoreboard above the Adidas Stand, on one side of the stadium. The stadium is not totally enclosed , all corners being open.
