Alnmouth Golf Club - Alnmouth - Golf

Distance 3.63 miles (5.8 km)
The Club has a long and distinguished history and is proud of its heritage as the fourth oldest course in England, being established in 1869. The existing course was created in 1930 by the famous golf course architect H.S.Colt, providing a testing and enjoyable challenge to this day. Although the course has a coastal location is has parkland turf and a reputation for the quality of its greens. This left the original nine holes intact for what is now known as the Alnmouth Village Golf Club. Our course is a fine test of golf - 6450 yards long, par 71 - and has hosted National and County events.

Distance 5.89 miles (9.43 km)
Alnwick Castle is the second largest inhabited Castle in England, the first being Windsor Castle, and has been the home of the Percys, Earls and Dukes of Northumberland since 1309. The earliest mention of Alnwick Castle in the history books appears soon after 1096 when Yves de Vescy became baron of Alnwick and erected the earliest parts of the Castle. The Castle was first restored by the 1st Lord Percy of Alnwick in the early 1300's and portions of this restoration remain today, including the Abbot's Tower, the Middle Gateway and the Constable's Tower.
