Whalley Golf Club - Clitheroe - Golf

Distance 3.01 miles (4.81 km)
The Whalley Golf Club was founded in 1912 on its present site. But the clubhouse dates back to 1751. It was an old barn that was converted and extended in 1972 when a highway scheme alongside the course made it necessary to find a new clubhouse. Careful renovation allowed some of the original beams and walls to be featured. Almost the entire course can be viewed from the clubhouse. The Whalley club can claim to have one of the finest nine hole courses in the country. It is a nine hole parkland course with beautifully matured trees and wonderful views of the Ribble Valley.

Distance 3.46 miles (5.54 km)
Burnley Golf Club probably ranks amongst the top five favourite courses of most golfers connected to the East Lancashire Golf Association. Fair but challenging, the Glen View course stands on the fringe of the Habergham Eaves moors which overlook Burnley from the road towards Rawtenstall. It is a course which makes excellent use of the rolling countryside and offers a true test to golfers of every standard. There are four par threes and one par five for a total of 69, but when the wind blows several of the par four holes play more like par fives!
