The Club is situated 2 miles from the main M8 motorway which bisects central Scotland and Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling can all be reached by car in under half an hour. The course has 18 holes measuring 6328 yards par 71, SSS 71. The layout is generally flat and easy walking. There is a practice area, practice green, nets and three putting greens. The course provides an excellent test of golf, evidenced by the quality of players it has produced. The Club has the probably unique claim to be the only Club ever to have produced two Ryder Cup Captains in Eric Brown and Bernard Gallacher.

Livingston F.C. is a Scottish football team currently playing in the Scottish Premier League. They are currently managed by former Scotland midfielder Paul Lambert. The club was previously based in Edinburgh and known as Ferranti Thistle F.C. from 1943 and Meadowbank Thistle F.C. from 1974. This was changed to Livingston in 1995. Livingston FC won the Third Division title in the 1995/1996 season and over the next five years added the Second Division and First Division titles to the honour roll. Livingston F.C's first season ended in triumph as they were crowned champions of the Scottish Division Three for the 1995-96 season.
