The Lommond Hills Hotel is a typical small independent hotel - the decor was a little outdated but the rooms were comfortable, the pool was great and gym were remarkably well equipped.
The food at dinner and breakfast was truly outstanding and the staff could not have been more welcoming- I would certainly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a place to hold a small celebration or just enjoy a few days away in a peaceful location.

My sister and I stayed in the Lomond Hills Hotel for two nights in early November while attending a family wedding locally.
Our room was ready on arrival in the early afternoon and it was warm and inviting.
Staff were friendly and very helpful.
The food was superb.
The hotel has a relaxed atmosphere and I would certainly recommend it as a place to stay if you are visiting the area.

What a friendly staff. Relaxed homely spot to spend a night. Clean simple room with tea and cookies. Had a little swim (towels provided and in the pool. There is a gym as well. Enyoyed my egg benedict with coffee and a croisant afterward. The only minor, as I am 6”6 the bed with a backboard was to small, the matres very thin and a squicky bed. Go for it π

I chose to make our reservations at the Lomond Hills hotel because we were competing with our horses at Highfield @ Howe equestrian centre. This hotel is by far the closest place to stay which was ideal for our early morning starts and late returns over 3 busy days of competing.
The staff at the hotel were really friendly and the owner was happy to accommodate our early breakfast requirements, and we extended our stay at short notice without any issues.
The rooms were clean and serviced daily, beds comfy and we had everything we needed.
This isn’t a super modern hotel, it’s an older building with character which is exactly what we prefer.
Breakfast options offer everything you would want, from continental to made today order eggs ( not the charmless buffet style breakfast that most modern hotels offer!) - my dad, who was staying in our guest party thoroughly enjoyed his cooked breakfasts each morning, and I’ll be back for mine this time next year!

The hotel is perfectly clean and in good condition. They serve a delicious breakfast, dinner and have a very cozy bar.
The hotel is around 30min walking from Lomond Hills and you see cows along the way! Very pleasant walk!!

An Enjoyable Three Day Break55
The hotel, although a little tired after the Covid shut down, was spotlessly clean. It is centrally situated in Fife making it a good base for visiting e.g.St Andrews, Elie, Falkland.We found the separate residents' lounge ideal for what our group wanted.
The staff were very friendly.
Although not cheap, all meals were reallyexcellent, with the big menu breakfast cooked to order.

The rooms are very nice too with en-suite bathroom/shower and very clean..also they can provide travel cots which was very helpful but overall highly recommended and you have a nice spar shop 2 minutes walk

I recently stayed overnight at the Lomond Hills Hotel for a nearby horse show. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The evening meal was lovely, the salad was a real salad and the soup and pudding were very tasty. My room was bright and airy - I was able to open the window and get fersh air while I slept - a real plus for me!
I had an early start and was still offered a full cooked breakfast - rather than the usual continental breakfast - I opted for scrambled eggs. They arrived with loads of toast and a smile. I would definately stay with them again.

Don’t be put off by the fact that I only awarded 4 stars. That’s because much of the public areas need a bit of modernization - a fact that the owner recognises and is clearly addressing as funds allow. The staff were friendly, the room and bathroom were clean and tidy, the single beds comfortable and the cooked breakfast excellent. Being in the centre of Fife, there is easy road access to Perth, Dundee, St. Andrews and Edinburgh. We would happily stay there again.

I had always wanted to stay at your hotel and it really lived up to my expectations. So nice of you to let me into my room sooner than the check in time since I was exhausted from the long trip. This hotel is in a tiny village and has ample free parking to allow you to explore Fife.
Nigel and his staff are wonderful, friendly and cannot do enough for you to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Nothing is too much trouble and it makes your stay a pleasure.
The food is excellen - a pub menu but up several notches from ordinary. Everything is home made from the 5 sfast to the delicious evening meals.
Well done Nigle and all of the staff! If in Fife again we would definitely return to the Lomond Hills Hotel.

Established hotel which has suffered during Covid shut downs & travel disruption. The owner was pleased to offer his assistance regarding all aspects of the hotel environment. Some parts of the hotel could benefit from upgrading but a more stable economic & travelling climate will be required to generate funds to allow upgrading to be implemented where necessary. The hotel staff were very keen to ensure that guests had a positive and enjoyable experience while staying at this hotel.

We only spent one night as we passed through the area, and the staff were courteous and professional. Breakfast was outstanding, smoked haddock with poached eggs and pea shoots. They are pet friendly which is very welcoming when you travel with a dog, there is a small extra charge for cleaning but not the extortionate £20 that "Travel Lodge" charges. Highly recommend.

The hosts are warm and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. The food was amazing and presented lovely. We didn’t have time to try out the pool facilities. Our room was very clean - a little dated and squeaky floor boards, shower pressure was very low - but it was outweighed by our overall feel for the stay. Had a great nights sleep.

Si viene accolti col sorriso, come si fosse in famiglia, con molta attenzione alla soddisfazione dell’ospite. Le camere, semplici ma molto pulite, sono in edifici tipici della zona. Una piacevole sorpresa è stata la cena, con un menù che strizza l’occhio alla fantasia e non delude nel gusto raffinato, con i giusti aromi, armonizzati e mai eccessivi. Nothing was too much trouble for Jan,Alex and their staff.
We were delighted to find that the pool was back in operation just half an hour prior to us arriving! Hurried off to local shops purchased inexpensive costumes and in for a dip perfect on the hottest day of year so far! It’s lovely to see the upgrades happening in hotel all the corridors were getting new carpets laid while we were there with minimal disruption to guests. This is a gem of a find good food, friendly atmosphere, pool and gym icing on the cake!! will certainly be back many thanks π

We chose Lomond Hills for its peachy location in striking distance of all that we wanted to see and do. It was last minute, so we were fortunate to secure a nice big, family room. The room had a double and a single bed, nice and comfy and everything spotlessly clean. Excellent tea and coffee making facilities and superb biscuits. There was a light bulb not working and the bathroom lock didn’t operate, but nothing that gave us any concern. We loved the power shower, so for us the room did everything we needed of it!
The breakfast menu offered all you could want and was prepared beautifully. We had dinner twice and if we have a complaint, it is that the portions are very large, so the second night we opted for two entrees. The bar is quiet and could do with an injection of atmosphere, possibly with some cheerful background music.
All in all we had a wonderful stay. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and I’m sure we would stay again if the opportunity arose.

Ive been to this hotel for wedding receiptions over the years but this was the first overnight stay as the in-laws house was full. Like many hotels they are recovering from both the pandemic and the impact of Brexit on staffing. Despite this we felt very well looked after with a very friendly atmosphere. The level of cleaning and quality of ingredients would put many larger hotels to shame. Id have no hesitiation in coming back as this hotel deserves support.

Only stayed for one night, as luck would have it it was the chefs night off, however the owners did a great job of providing an excellent evening meal and fantastic breakfast with plenty to choose from. We were fortunate to spend a very interesting and good humoured evening in the bar with the owners and other residents.
The room was clean, comfortable and well maintained the bath/shower room looked new so absolutely no complaints only plaudits.

Excellent 2 night stay. Well looked after by an exceptional member of staff who is more or less running the place single handed. Hope the owners value her commitment. Once inside the place is very clean and comfortable. Some tlc definitely needed. We were lucky to have a lovely upgraded room.
Meals were exceptional, top marks to the chef.
Facelift to outside of building, paint and general tidy up would make such a difference. It is very much a work in progress but first appearances can be so important.
The friendly warm welcome and care certainly make up for everything else.
We would definitely return.
Thank you to the very very small team who made our visit so enjoyable and relaxing.

Firstly, it's superb to have a dog-friendly (super dog-friendly) hotel! Harvey loved his first holiday experience, particularly the sausages he got at breakfast.
Doing a long overdue 2021 Christmas visit, the hotel location was spot on and the staff were so friendly and helpful.
The hotel's getting upgrading work done - it is a bit tired but it was ideal for what we needed.
We'll book again when we're visiting family later in the year.

Room was cold but when I asked for an explanation they immediately responded and installed an extra electric heater that fixed the problem. Turned out there was a boiler broken and could not be fixed in the next 10 days because of shortage of parts. As soon as possible they gave me a different room that was on a different heating system and was nice and warm. Overall the hotel is dated, but the very friendly staff made fully up for it. Price including breakfast is very good.

I felt very well looked-after on my overnight stay. The staff were all friendly, professional, interested without being intrusive, and easily available when needed. They met my quirky dietary requirements without batting an eyelid. The porridge followed by smashed avocado on brown toast for breakfast were absolutely delicious. The room was clean, warm, well-appointed and tasteful. Everything worked as it should. I slept very well. Very high praise.

We spent 3 nights in the Lomond Hills Hotel and we were overwhelmed by the hospitality. Do not be put off by the tired exterior (covid has put back renovations) because we could not fault the service and the quality of the food (you will NOT leave hungry!). Also the central location is ideal for exploring beautiful Fife. We were even given hot lemon and water after dinner because we all had tickly coughs which you would not get anywhere else. The only negative was the poor Wi-fi. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

Ideally placed for plaything golf at a range of really accessible golf clubs as well as St Andrews about a 30 minute drive away.

We used the hotel for a long weekend break in Fife. It is relatively handy for a number of the places we planned to visit. Although parts of the building are in need of some to the room was clean and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The catering was first class with a good choice at breakfast and also in the restaurant which we used on our first evening. Work is on going in the leisure area so that wasn't available but is expected to be ready by the end of October. Would consider using again.

We had a great time at The Lomond Hills Hotel, although they were short staffed we were dealt with efficiently at reception and soon were in our rooms. My sister and I went down to the bar for a drink, ( we had just finished part of The Fife Pilgrim Way on a very hot day, and I “needed” a beer or two to rehydrate ), this was our only less than great experience with a limited choice of drinks available due to beers and ciders being unavailable. The dinner at night was fabulous ( I would recommend the crispy duck ), with good sized portions and the wine was great value.
Breakfast the next day was particularly good with an extensive choice on offer.
I would thoroughly recommend the Hotel if you are in this area.

We found the hotel easily in the village. Very welcoming staff and the twin room was delightful and clean. We had a kitten in a carry box and this was no problem for the staff. Excellent meal in the evening and good breakfast in the morning. Staff gave me a free bottle of water in the morning (for me and the kitten) and packets of treats for the kitten! Excellent service!

For 2 nights for my wedding with my 3 bridesmaids , the pre wedding meal was absolutely delious. As the chef had adapted the meal due to us choosen the daily menu.
Absolutely delious the portion size are excellent they certainly don't skimp on the food.
Which is all fresh food and vegetables, the breakfast is omg enough to feed you for a week. Thats only because I am a small eater.
On the day off my wedding all the staff and manager could not be more helpful. Again they didn't shame us with the food , absolutely delious and the sweets are orsome . All the guests couldn't help but say to me and my new Husband how wonderful the food was and especially the barbecue .
We have been to the Lomond Hills Hotel over the last year and a half . Not once have we had a bad meal or bad service. The staff can not be more helpful along with Jan the manager.
Who has helped us right through to our wedding dayan was so busy on the day working .When we would have liked to have here join us for a bit, she is very committed to make your day very special.
That is what Jan and her staff have done for Alan and I and we both look forward to many more meals . With know that Jan , Chef and all the staff are their. Good food excellent service and wonderful staff.Oh and a nice clean room we can not praise this team of staff enough and if I could do the same again I would and highly recommend

My stay was for my sisters wedding, on 21/08/2021
We had a beautiful evening meal the night before and delious breakfast meal.
On the wedding day the staff couldn't be more helpful and worked very hard the meal was delious.
The chef food is absolutely delious can not fault anything had a wonderful 2 nights stay .
The evening meal was a barbecue and desserts , which again was so delious .
The hotel did my sister and brother inlaw proud on the day especially the manager. Who couldn't be more helpful for my sister the Bride who highly recommed this hotel

Very polite and friendly staff at hotel. The landlady made me feel like a valued guest. Breakfast was like an indulgence and easily saw me through the whole day until supper time.
Hotel room is not luxurious but comfortable, and I had a nice country-inn kind of feel during my stay. Nice to see that they welcome dogs and I shall take mine along the next time.
Generous car parking spaces.
My only grievance is that the gym and pool were closed for refurbishment, but there was no mention on the website and no revision of prices for the temporary suspension of this facility.
To be fair to some extent, the landlady wrote off my drinks expenses to compensate as I was really looking forward to unwind at the Leisure Centre over the weekend.

Our room was comfortable and clean , but small for the two of us and our dog.
The hotel both inside and out needs updating and refurbishment, however I know the owners have not been there long and have plans in place for this.
The owners and staff were all very friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed.
We ate at the hotel a couple of times in the evening and the food was great with enormous portions. Breakfast was excellent with a great choice and once again great portions.
I wish the owners every success for their future in the hotel and would love to visit again once it’s been updated.

Excellent Base For Fife55
I booked the Lomond Hills for a weekend for my husband, myself and some friends for a great priced B&B.
Appearances are deceptive (the hotel was due a refurbishment but this was delayed thanks to COVID), and the Hotel does look a little tired outside and inside.
Also- thanks to COVID- the pool and gym were unavailable during our stay.
However- it's definitely clean and comfortable.
The staff were absolutely amazing: friendly and helpful. I've seen some nasty reviews about a certain person being too talkative but this was not our experience. We thought the personal approach was a definite plus point.
THE FOOD IS INCREDIBLE.
The Chef belongs in a five-star restaurant judging by the quality of the meals provided. There is a large range of dinners which taste wonderful and look great. Local produce features.
The helpings are very generous (not for those concerned about calories!)- and the cheeseboard is enough for 2 or more people.
If you choose then you probably would not need to eat anything after the breakfast: again a wide range of options (more Scottish fish dishes on a single menu than I've seen in ANY other hotel)and the "Full Scottish" is a thing of beauty.
The hotel is a great base for exploring Fife. Set in a small rural village with Falkland Palace less than half a mile away, and all the Fife attractions within reach after short drives through beautiful countryside.
All in all I would highly recommend the Lomond Hills Hotel and we will be back ourselves if/when we revisit fife.

Enjoyable Short Stay55
Had a very pleasant stay in this family run hotel, we were made to feel very welcome throughout our 2 night stay. Our room was clean and recently decorated, it was quiet & we had a comfortable nights sleep. We ate in the restaurant both nights, there was plenty of dishes to choose from and the food was excellent, all freshly cooked. The breakfasts were great, lots of choice and plenty of everything. Nice lounge bar with beer garden, pleasantly surprised to find a choice of two real ales from the local Loch Leven brewery (both tasted great????) Good location for visiting nearby Falkland Palace and exploring the Fife coast. Hopefully once Covid restrictions ease the hotel will get busier again and allow some external maintenance to be done. Would definitely recommend and look forward to staying again.

The hotel staff were friendly and courteous and the facilities were clean. The cuisine was excellent with very generous servings. The only downside was that there is a church bell close by that goes off every hour, which made it difficult to sleep well. However our room was across from the church, so it may not be the same experience in a different room.

We wanted a hotel that was convenient for seeing the sites of Fife. We chose this one as it was close to Anstruther, St Andrews, Falkland Palace and the Scottish Deer Centre. When we arrived we found that it is in a quiet village but convenient for the A92 road. We were welcomed by Jan as though we were old friends. The room was clean and comfortable; it looked as though it had been recently decorated. Breakfast and dinner were substantial and imaginative and delicious.
We would stay here again if we were back in Fife.

This hotel is a little gem although it is run down in areas.....but the staff and food make up for absolutely everything. The staff are some of the nicest I have ever had the pleasure to come across and the Chef should be awarded a medal for his food. I will defo be back when leisure facilitiea re open. Only criticism is I felt slightly over priced given no leisure facilities or discount applied at end to acknowledge same

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, spotless rooms and plenty of cleaning products available for guests. This is the most dog friendly hotel we've stayed at! There was a water bowl outside and a dog treat for our dog on arrival. A small team of friendly staff and a delicious breakfast. Perfect location for visiting St Andrews and not too far from Edinburgh!

Best meals we have ever eaten.The quality,taste and presentation of food was out of this world.On the second night since we are vegetarian chef asked if we would like an alternative to the menu.Following night we enjoyed the most wonderful serving of gnocci with beetroot and goats cheese.The desserts are stunning.So looking forward to visiting again and again.

Given the problems of housekeeping caused by Covid, everything was very clean and tidy. The highlight of our 3 day stay was the standard of the food which was superb. We looked forward to our evening meals and were never let down. The choice was wide and the quality outstanding.

The food was really fabulous - I would highly recommend this chef - he knows what he's doing! All meals were delicious including a breakfast that would keep you going for hours!
Rooms very nice and quiet and we were kindly given at upgrade as hotel was quiet due to current situation.
Beautiful location with gorgeous Falkland nearby so we walked.

The hotel and rooms are comfortable, It is a great place to stay if you are using it as a base with easy access to the Fife Coast, Perth and Dundee. The welcome from Jan and Ally was great and we felt relaxed almost straight away. The food is good and the breakfast enormous. One will last you about two days if you have the full Scottish! It can be a little over facing though. We brought our dog and she was spoiled rotten...

I recently stayed at the Lomond Hills hotel for a 2 night business trip. I found the rooms were immaculately clean, functional and generously sized.
The food served, both breakfast and evening meals were genuinely some of the finest food I have eaten in 20 years of traveling for work.
But by far the best thing about the Lomond hills hotel are the staff. There friendliness, genuine warmth and a willingness to do everything to make your stay as enjoyable as possible surpassed all my expectations, from the owners, waitresses, kitchen staff and cleaners, they all work together to create a wonderful family atmosphere around the whole hotel.
I will definitely be back in the future.????

We have had a amazing break at the Lomond hills bed and breakfast it has been lovely. Great host and excellent food their really is something for everyone. Nothing is too much for any of the staff at this hotel, clean room with a very comfy bed. The little touches of biscuits in room our nice. We Felt completely safe in these covid conditions just gutted we couldn’t use the pool facilities but we completely understand why we can’t. We hope too return oneday as we have both really enjoyed our time here if your looking for a nice family run bed and breakfast then look no further it is a nice place too stay to visit everything Scotland has to offer. Even during the current covid circumstances, the staff have been brilliant & so welcoming.
Can highly recommend the food! From the evening meal to the breakfasts we had, there was something for everyone & it was delicious!!
The room was very comfortable & clean, with all of the usual extras, refreshments, hair dryer, safe & even extra blankets if needed.

The staff offer a warm and friendly welcome and nothing seems to be too much bother. I elected to stay here for 2 nights as part of walking on the Fife Pilgrim way with a friend. Hot showers, comfortable bed and simple furnishings were all that were required with the added plus of a delicious evening meal and great choices for breakfast made this a good option. In my room there was also the added benefit of a hairdryer, and lovely hcoices of hot drinks and biscuits too which are nice touches. The hotel and its grounds are perhaps a wee bit tired but we were not needing anything lavish or fancy and this suited our needs well. We were keen to support local businesses through this walk especially through the challenges of recovering from lock down, so they are mindful of social distancing, sanitising everything, and making us as guests feel as welcome as possible but also as safe as possible too. Thank you to everyone.

Weekend Stay January/february 202055
Returned to the hotel for a weekend stay since I was last there a good few years ago. The hotel is a firm favourite of mine and was of my late wife so my daughter accompanied me on this weekend. Once again the hotel is as homely, welcoming, friendly and relaxing, clean throughout, and exceptional food. Whether it be a weekend break or for longer then this hotel can accommodate you. I shall be returning before too long and recommend you to try this jewel in Scotland.

The hotel is a 3* hotel very clean and my room was very comfortable, the staff were excellent very polite and accommodating. We ate in the hotel at night, again very good and I would say one of the best breakfast I've had even better than 5* hotels that I stayed in . Will stay there again when we are next in the area

We had a really lovely stay in a beautiful place - really enjoyed exploring Falkland and Fife. The hotel was warm and welcoming and we really loved relaxing in the pool and spa, our 3 year old had a great time. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and even gave our son a wee Christmas present as we checked out! The food in the restaurant was great and the breakfast filled us up for the whole day. Thanks again.

Had the best nights sleep, huge bed and so quiet. Struggled to watch normal tv as it streams it’s channels but Netflix worked fine.
The staff are the most friendliest I’ve ever come across . Young Ben is an absolute credit to the place .
The pool was warm and we had it to ourselves.
Yes the hotel is tired in places , especially the pool changing area but It was clean and functional.
Our evening meal was delicious, our breakfast was lovely too.

It is very obvious that the new owners are pulling all the stops out to rejuvenate this building back to it's former glory.
All of the staff are courteous and always willing to make my stay as comfortable as possible. The breakfast menu is vast and of fantastic quality.
There is more work required to the building but Rome wasn't built in a day and money doesn't grow on trees.

Having stayed at the Lomond Hills before - I was delighted at the hospitality and comfort once again offered during my recent visit. My room was spotless and the bed really comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and served by a very friendly and efficient lady who happily served me fresh coffee from the machine at the bar. It was well worth the extra charge for me to be able to enjoy a good quality fresh cup of coffee rather than the 'instant' that is routinely served.

I always enjoy staying at the Lomond Hills Hotel. My en suite room had a comfortable bed, an electric heater for chilly mornings, adequate places to store clothing and accessories. Bathroom a bit small, but manageable. Staff very friendly and helpful, food excellent, nicely served. Location in the center of this charming village, with adequate parking, is convenient.

I've stayed at The Lomond on many occasions and I can't recommend it enough. Business travellers, families and locals all treated with equal respect by the excellent staff who really make you welcome throughout your stay with excellent food served every time from the kitchen. The hotel is currently undergoing restoration which will only enhance the character and make this one of the best places to stay in Fife.This isn't a faceless chain hotel, it's a Home from Home.

From arrival to departure, every part of my short stay was exceptionally well catered for. I really enjoyed my stay. My room was comfortable and well equipped.In particukar the bed was excellent.. best sleep Ive had in ages. My check in was late due to rain induced domestic dramas but the receptionist/barman offered to get a sandwich made uo for me even though the kitchen was closed. A welcoming touch. I enjoyed being able to have a swim and jacuzzi dip too and they keep the leisure centre open till a good timd in the evening too. The breakfast was well cooked and a good variety of options ...kippers etc included on menu and the young staff were professional and helpful.The hotel is looking a bit tired and needs a refurb but the staff work hard to make a good impression.

we were staying for one night to attend a local party. The hotel recommended taxi driver was terrific. The room was comfortable. They are very dog friendly. The dinner was excellent and the staff are really friendly.They are re-furbishing the gym and spa. They need to attend to the garden area. Weeds all around. If you are going to have window boxes then attend them. First impressions and all that.They are in Freuchie which is famous for cricket. I would put that in my address!

We love the charm of the old hotel. We did not find the service in the restaurant as good as in past years. The server got the order wrong twice and the barman poured glasses of wine to the brim instead of asking what size we wanted.We did have a problem with the first room we had with the bed as it was a "back killer". The lovely morning receptionist changed us to a different room with a better bed. her customer service was excellent. it appeared that some of the new staff could do with extra training.We will be back to stay but please don't lose the charm and the personable service we have seen in the past.

We were very limited for options re accommodation as we were travelling with an aged bulldog, the Lomond Hills was happy to have us + Arnie, we were made to feel very welcome, the staff were so friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and comfortable with a good selection of food items available for breakfast. We feel the price was fair and reflected the need for some updating in the rooms and to the fabric of the building eg windows, bathrooms. We will probably stay again if we have Arnie with us on our visits to Fife.

The Lomond Hills Hotel has seen better days but it is run in a friendly and professional manner.
Rooms are spacious and very clean and bed was comfortable. Furniture dated but it makes the most of what it has.
Meals were of very good quality and nicely presented.
Leisure facilities and the lovely pool are an unexpected benefit.

My 2 Night Stay - November 201845
As always, a friendly welcome and comfortable room. I ate in the bar which was very quiet during this and the previous visit. The food is always fresh, hot and hearty. Although regular visitors may crave some new menu ideas, the quality is always excellent. There was some servicing of equipment going on in the gym but usually it provides a place to stretch your legs at this time of year. Overall, a great place to stay and good value.

A really lovely and comfortable hotel. The pool was brilliant and staff were really nice and very helpful. Would definitely stay again and would highly recommend this hotel to family and friends.

Stayed here with my son on a golfing trip at St Andrews was a little further away than I thought about 30 mins drive however very pleased with my stay here The staff are extremely friendly and helpful the food in the restaurant and for breakfast was superb and well priced only. The room and pool area are looking a little tired but did not stop us enjoying a pleasant comfortable stay

Our third stay here and as with previous visits we both had a lovely time. The hotel, under new management, is bringing itself up to standard, and as one may expect, there is the odd glitch, however, on the whole, it was a pleasant stay, in a room with nice aspect. Dinner was well cooked and presented, the breakfast was lovely with a good choice. Several areas for guests to relax and easy parking. The principal new owner was visible, helpful, pleasant and attentive.

We appreciated the way that the reservation team worked to cater for our families needs. The food we had at the wedding reception and for our breakfast stood out as being of high quality, it was beutifully prepared and really tasty!

waiting staff team who worked with confidence throughout the entire recepton.

We stayed for one night. At the suggestion of the receptionist we went to Falkland and
spent a lovely afternoon there before returning to the hotel to have dinner. The food was absolutely delicious. The rooms were basic but were clean and comfortable. We had a swim in hotel's heated pool before breakfast which again was excellent. We found all the staff to be very friendly. Alex took the time to chat to us and show us round.

We stayed for one night. The room was clean and comfortable - with all that’s needed. We found the receptionist extremely professional - but a bit cold. The breakfast staff were less than charming - however, it wa because we were late to breakfast. The most impressive person was the owner! She was totally accommodating in all aspects. She was totally charming - and extremely warm. She couldn’t do more to enhance our stay. The opportunity here would be for her to train the staff to be more like her. Then she would have a total gem of a hotel. Having said all of that, because of the owner and the room, we certainly would return.

We stay at your hotel to visit family who live in Freuchie, we always receive a friendly welcome. The rooms are very clean and well looked after, however they are quite dated and in need of redecorating. Bed is quite small fir a large double. However the bathroom looked fairly new. We always eat at the hotel and the food is always very good in the bar and at breakfast. We will return and hope to see the rooms updated in the future.

A last minute booking which meant we had an attic double room. They offered us another room for our third night when another was vacant. We didn't move as we were quite happy.It was very clean, roomy and quiet, nice and bright with a velux window,view to the hills. The bathroom was spaceous and very clean too. All over the hotel has been well looked after. We didn't try the pool or gym but it looks good. The food was excellent and the staff very pleasant.We were made very comfortable and will definately go back! (will take my swimsuit next time)

The hotel is very well situated allowing good access to all parts of East Fife region. Being in a small village there are no traffic issues and getting to and from the hotel was easy.
The staff throughout were helpful and friendly. The quality of service for meals and drinks was very good.
The rooms were somewhat basic but adequate for our needs.
The food was somewhat mixed. Some dishes such as the salmon and the sea bass were good but others such as the venison and steak pie were bland and lacked flavour More vegetables would have been welcome. The breakfasts were good.
The swimming pool was a fairly good size and easily accessed.
Overall we very much enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel to others.

Owners and staff were the friendliest and most helpful we have met in some time. The location is central for access to most of Fife and we found any local people we met open and friendly.
It was an ideal area for taking a 4 legged friend along also!
Décor and ambiance was first class and there was an excellent choice in the dining and breakfast rooms.
I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel to others.

A lovely short break. The hotel is very comfortable and all the staff are super helpful, pleasant and polite. Great breakfast and choice. We didn't use the resaurant in the evening as we returned late from sightseeing but other guests told us it was superb too. Spent lovely afternoon in pool and jacuzzi too which we had to ourselves. Great base for travelling in Fife and visiting Edinburgh. would recommend and stay again.

Our stay was an impromptu decision and proved to be an excellent choice. The combination of the lovely surrounding countryside, the comfort of the accommodation and the friendly and warm welcome from all the staff we met made the stay memorable.A three star hotel with five star staff.The fact that there was a small indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna was an added bonus which we took advantage of due to the wet weather when we arrived. Hotel was lovely,clean and all staff very friendly, room was clean and fresh, only downfall was the room was cold when we went back up at night, so had to use the plug in heater(that was quite noisey with the oil heating/dripping inside it) and the shower could have been more powerful(was like 4 strands of water) but these things didn't ruining my stay and would definitely stay again in the future. The food at the wedding and at breakfast was also great :)

This was our second visit to the Lomond Hills, however this time we brought our daughter, son in law and granddaughter with us, as we were all visiting the Christmas event at Falkland Palace. As on our previous visit, the service we received was excellent and very friendly. Our rooms were spotless and very comfortable. We dined in the hotel in beautiful surroundings and the food was first class. Our granddaughter loved the pool and is already asking when we can visit again. Saturday Night Stay With Meal45
We would say that the Lomond hotel is very welcoming and that staff could not be more helpful. We had come to meet family and the staff made sure that our meal order went into the kitchen promptly, to ensure we could spend time with our family in the lounge. Our room was quite basic, perhaps just a bit dated, but clean, functional, peaceful and with a comfortable bed. It also had a hot drink and biscuit selection, which was much appreciated. We found the lounge area upstairs too cold to sit in, but the bar downstairs was well stocked and lounge area downstairs cosy. Good service at dinner, with a definite recommendation to choose the steak-pie option. We found the venison stroganoff a bit over-done, but cheeseboard options enjoyable with quince and grapes. Chutney also arrived with a smile, as an extra request. The hotel is situated in a lovely part of North East Fife. Well worth exploring the surrounding area, including Falkland Palace, only a couple of miles up the road. We didn't have time to use the leisure facilities - maybe next time. The breakfast room was bright, cheerful and with many choices for a hearty traditional Scottish (vegetarian option too) breakfast, or continental. Good value for money.

Meal Was Amazing!!45
Myself and my boyfriend stayed at the hotel for one night for our 3 year anniversary. The room was basic but just what was needed for a quiet relaxed night away. The best part of our stay was the meal we had and the service we received. We had a lovely 3 course meal which left us satisfied without feeling too full. The service from the staff was amazing also with a special mention of the owners who couldn't do enough for you! We are from Dundee but if we are ever that way again we would definately eat there again! Would recommend the Cullen skink starter and steak for main well worth the money!!

Just spent two days here and i must say it was excellent firstly reception was great very friendly nothing a bother and she always went an extra mile,even spoke to my son about his airoplanes rooms lovely although some stuff around hotel is slightly dated but that didnt bother me as old hotels shouldn't be modernised to much the the food was amazing from breakfast to dinner morelike five star hotel food pool was good too stafff were great with my very active four year old overall i would stay again it was just so friendly and everyone even down to cleaners walking by made us feel welcome five star service and five star food excellent hotel should be very proud of your staff and hope to stay again so nice to just sit back and enjoy

Good Hotel That\'s Central For Lots Of Tourist Attractions45
This is a lovely hotel with really friendly staff. It is a little dated but the rooms are clean and have everything you need. The only negative I have is that the family room we had did not have a bath and the water pressure was quite poor in the shower but it wouldn't put me off from booking again. The breakfast was lovely and my 2 young kids had a great time would def recommend.

2nd Visit To The Lomond Hills Hotel55
First visit was a 5 day business trip with an American colleague. Back again with the wife for a three business/leisure trip so must be doing something right!! As with the last time the thing that makes this hotel is the people, so friendly and professional. Room was lovely and food was perfect - simple, but beautifully done. Wife had a great time and commented on how nice everyone is! Will be back again later in the year and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a lovely, well run hotel outside the business of Edinburgh. Thank you!!

Last 2 nights of our tour of Scotland. Central location, good food, good staff, good rooms. Does what you want without being over fussy, bar used by a few locals as well, being village location quiet and friendly. Perth and Edinburgh in easy reach, but try the east Fife coast road from St Andrews to the Forth crossing, its well worth it, but often missed out in the rush North.. would stay again.

My dad and I stayed at this hotel at the weekend as we had a wedding to attend. The accommodation is very clean and tidy. The staff are very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The evening meal was reasonably priced and nice, as well as breakfast being served promptly and tasted very good. The hotel were also very accommodating, especially since I did not return from the wedding till quite late on the evening.

We stayed at the Lomond Hills Hotel over the festive season for a bit of r&r. We really enjoyed our stay and left feeling rested & relaxed.
The room was very comfortable with a brand new shower room which was spotless.
After checking in we enjoyed a dip in the pool which also had a sauna & jacuzzi. We pretty much had it all to ourselves most of the time.
We also had dinner here which was delicious & we left our plates clean. It was nice to see a menu of Scottish food with not a burger in sight. I will definitely be recommending the hotel for food aswel as accommodation.
We were made to feel very welcome after our meal to enjoy a few drinks in the lounge and the big fire was even lit for us.
Breakfast in the morning was perfect & everything you could possibly want was on offer.
Thanks to everyone at the Lomond Hills Hotel for a great nights stay and break from the norm.

Stayed for 2 nights at the beginning of June. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room had all the required facilities. The breakfast was really good. We enjoyed a few drinks in the bar and the owner and his son were very knowledgeable about the vast number of whiskies on offer. It was good to chat with the locals who were also very welcoming and friendly. All in all we had a great stay and will be returning again in July. It is also a great location if you are a golfer.

This was the second time we have stayed here after a function. On arrival the receptionist was very helpful. The room was clean and warm. The food at the function was served quickly and HOT and tasted wonderful.
The breakfast was cooked to order and a cold table to choose your cereal and fruit juice from.

My partner and I have stayed at The Lomond Hills before so thought we would try it again. Once again the food and the staff were brilliant. However our double room was so small that we had to get dressed one at a time as the floor space was so limited. The window wouldn't open and the room was very hot.Would stay there again but ask for a different room.

I enjoyed using the gym and would have used the pool is we had been staying longer ; they were clean, well equipped and inviting. The exceptional thing about this hotel is how friendly and keen all the staff are; it was a pleasure to be around young people who were so well trained and pleasant, and there was a lovely atmosphere created by the interaction between all staff members and the hotel owners. Great Time55
This was our second visit to the Lomond Hills and we enjoyed our break very much. The hotel is so well placed to visit lots of different areas, including Falkland and St Andrews and beyond. With the station at Ladybank just 2 miles up the road, we took a day trip to Edinburgh too. The hotel staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The food in the restaurant was excellent and we ate there on 3 of the 5 nights we stayed. Breakfast certainly sets you up for the day with plenty of choice. We would recommend this hotel and hope to re-visit in the future. Thanks Ronnie, Faye and all staff.

In two weeks traveling around all over Scotland I could appreciate everywhere, without exception, the warm scottish hospitality but in this place an overnight stay becomes something to remember. The owner and all the staff are particularly friendly and efficient; pub and restaurant are excellent; room and bathroom little but comfortable. A very good choice for alla travellers visiting the Fife.

We stayed 2 nights here. Our bed was firm but comfortable. Shower hot and efficient. Liked the lime and lemon shower gel.
Lovely sitting area on the 1st floor. Wifi was free and very useful.
Breakfast was lovely. My teenage son particularly likes the pancakes with maple syrup and bacon.
We had dinner on Friday evening, good choice and quality. Husband linked the local Drover Ale.
Son likes hunters chicken which was only on the high tea menu, but the Cajun chicken was served with BBQ sauce as a very acceptable alternative.
Staff very friendly and helpful, the owner, Ronnie seemed to be always on duty.
The wedding on Saturday was excellent, food good and hot despite a large number of people to serve.

We had a lovely stay this last weekend, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the meals were delicious. If anything could be improved it would be the bed which was a little saggy in the middle. The shower in the room took a bit of fiddling but once you got the hang of the settings it was fine. But these are only niggles and did not spoil our weekend. Thanks all.
